RAGING GRANNIES
who are the

RAGING GRANNIES

We are a group of bold, outspoken women who use song, humor, and street theater to advocate for peace, social justice, environmental protection, and human rights. Rooted in activism and community care, we show up in aprons and sashes to raise our voices, challenge injustice, and demand a better world for future generations.

You can find "gaggles" of grannies across all of North America.

questions

Curious about who we are or how to join a gaggle? Want to know what we sing, what we stand for, or what to expect at an action? You’ll find those answers and more below.

Are you really grandmothers?

Some of us are. Some of us aren’t. “Granny” is a spirit — not a requirement. If you’re an older woman with a sense of humor and a passion for change, you’re in the right place.

What issues do you care about?

We sing about climate justice, reproductive rights, anti-racism, disarmament, healthcare, fair wages, and more. If it matters to the future, it matters to us.

Where are you based?

We’re international, with gaggles across the U.S. and Canada, and friends around the world. Each gaggle is independent but connected by shared values and a love of singing for justice.

How do I join?

Click the “Join Us” link to find a local gaggle near you, or learn how to start one. Most gaggles welcome women 50+ who want to get loud in creative ways.
